I have decided to cancel my birthday this year which would have been tomorrow. Tad depressing but fear not, I think I have about another 35 to 40 of them left in me.

OMBRE

Since growing out my high maintenance heavy signature fringe in preparation for Peru and then having all the split ends chopped off post-Peru it's now a very non-event mid length. Technical colours and tricky styles are either too hard to maintain or more than my rent to fund the upkeep of such a do. But ombre hair seems to be easy to do, maintain and get rid off should you get bored of it

It's en trend to have a messy bleach job. Bleach London, a hair salon recently launched inside the infamous WAH Nails bar in Dalston, is dedicated to such styles and even incorporating mint greens, midnight blues and hues of lavender into the dip dyed tips, nothing is too much for head stylist Alex Brownsell.

Ooh but £60 for a bit of bleach? I just don't have that kind of cake to splash around. Lily, from LLMLRS whom I came across while Googling, did a DIY tutorial on how to get ombre hair for the price of a packet of hair dye. And I think you'll agree it looks pretty ace...

My dear friend Isabelle, who is incredibly talented, made this short film about her dog Zachery Jack who recently passed away. Please click on the link below to enjoy a beautiful piece of film that has been lovingly made about her best friend.

Rocking my Huaraz garms today. Supposedly today is thee most miserable day of the year, a January mid-month Monday. Fuck it, take off the duvet you've been wearing all day, put on a hat and leave the house.

Inspired by the beautiful people of Huaraz in Peru. A small cold town high up in the Andes. However these people could not be more different from the grey weather. Traditional dress is always brightly coloured, full skirts, knitted leggings, lace and silk shirts and bright knitted cardigans. To top it off these women use bright peruvian patterned blankets tied around their torsos to carry food, herbs, children and even baby animals.

Last but not least is the Huaraz hat. These tall hats are decorated with a length of hand stitched ribbon. They should be worn on the top of the head at an angle. This particular hat is identified with the traditional Huaraz dress and can be found no where else.

I might have to buy these very soon. I can't think of anywhere appropriate to wear them however my desire has overwhelmed my concern. Ah, another pair of shoes destined to spend their lives in a box only ever worn for prancing around in front of the mirror.

'No Way Through' was one of the winners of the Ctrl+Alt+Shift Film Competition. It highlights mobility restrictions imposed in the West Bank of Palistine, that are limiting its habitants’ access to health care, thus violating a fundamental human right. For more short films click here.

I'm so confused! I heard this song for the first time on new years eve at the O2 Arena. Everyone knew the words and sung along. Me, oblivious. Three months in Peru and I find the biggest thing I missed out on is not being able to recognise a few tunes in the club. Anyway, I'm a Rihanna fan. I like this song. I just hate the video so bad.

What the fuck is she wearing? What, did her record label run a competition "win the chance to style Rihanna's next video"? It is awful!

I can understand why they never show her feet in the video now. EDIT: Actually, it's the shoes that I find the most offensive! Current shoe trends are so strong at the moment. High street brands are giving designers a real run for their money in the shoe stakes. So, why is she wearing Office brouge heels from four years ago?
“The fashion wardrobe for teens and young adults today is focused on trendy shoes. Footwear is the signature piece, especially in the urban markets, that these consumers are using to express who they are.” - Marshal Cohen

So Rihanna, what do those shoes say about you?

Unsure what's going on with the two tone legs? Take a closer look.

P O S T . C H R I S T M A S . P O S T

After hiding out in Essex for two weeks after returning from Peru I have done very little apart from sleep, eat and watch TV. I have watched far too much 'The Only Way Is Essex' in one go and now fear I am morphing into Amy Childs. Words like 'babes' regularly fall out of my mouth during civilised conversation. Another worrying side effect of overdosing on TOWIE was that I was caught eyeing up a pair of gold snake lame UGG style boots in Colchester market. It was time to go home.

So finally back in London and it's bloody freezing. I'm sitting in my little house in Dalston wrapped in a Llama wool cape polishing off the Rococo Chocolates the boy got me for Christmas amongst other gifts like my new Mac Book Air. Typey typey typey...
